Crews from TLC’s A Baby Story were in Arlington last week to record the birth of Bailey Junior High teacher Katy Wells’ daughter Whitney.
But if you can’t wait that long to find out how things went, you’re in luck. Megan Brooks, who works in public relations at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, spent 12 hours tweeting the labor and Wells’ Tuesday night cesarean section live on her Twitter feed, @MBrooksTXHealth.
The Wellses saw a flier this year about the TLC show looking for couples in Arlington. They thought it would be entertaining to apply but didn’t really think they’d get picked, Katy Wells said. The show will air between November and January.
Wells, 31, and her husband Jimmy, 30, were both born at Arlington Memorial, too. They met as students at Bailey Junior High and started dating while both attended Arlington High School.
Brooks, who doesn’t have any kids and had never witnessed a delivery, also posted pictures on Twitter of baby Whitney’s first few moments.
“She was just perfect,” Brooks said. Her parents no doubt agreed.
