Is the process to get a child into a talented and gifted program too overwhelming? Is home schooling a viable alternative? Over at our Mom2Mom blog, parents are discussing their frustrations with public schools and offering advice to each other. You can join the discussion here.

Many parents feels that their child is gifted and talent. But that student may not meet the criteria of the district. The student may not pass the exam that is given. Too many students are referred to the GT program and find out later that they are not qualified and complain that the work is to hard. I have taught schools in Michigan, New York and Texas and this problem exists. Trying to explain to parents the reasons their child was not admitted to the program can be frustating.
