Students arriving at Fort Worth's Phillips Elementary School on Wednesday on bikes, skateboards and scooters had the chance to get a free helmet.
Folks from Pate Rehabilitation, Fort Worth Safe Communities Coalition and Fort Worth police and firefighters were handing out the helmets to students who were not wearing head protection. Students who had helmets on got a coupon for free ice cream.
