About 300 students from the University of North Texas are expected to march to the polls on Oct. 30th, according the UNT's NAACP chapter. Students will cast early ballots in the presidential election. The group recently registered 1,372 voters at various campus events.
Celeste Graham said the march is an extension of an intiative called: "Sleep Here? Vote Here." That effort encouraged college students to register to vote in the communities in which they study. The Oct. 30 allows the group to tap into the campus activities while encouraging people to vote. Similar marches are expected at other college campuses.
"It's Homecoming," Graham said. "Go vote. Make sure you don't forget the presidential election."
