Two new Live Oak Trees have been planted at Southlake's Johnson Elementary School. The trees were awarded through the People's Garden Grant - sponsored by the Bob Jones Nature Center and the Alliance for Community Trees.
The trees were planted across from each other - one on the campus landscaped garden area and one in the courtyard area. Students, parents, educators and community leaders recently attended a dedication ceremony to mark the arrival of the trees.
The ceremony and tree planting helps show support for campus beautification while acknowledging the beauty of nature, said Cathy Clarke, Johnson Elementary PTO president.
