Students at Beck Elementary School in Trophy Club are hosting a mock election today on campus, featuring speeches by students acting as the U.S. presidential and vice presidential candidates.
A fifth grade electoral committee are holding a rally for each candidate and students are casting ballots at six voting precincts set up in the campus.(R: Student gives speech as VP Joe Biden, NWISD photo)
They'll also serve as secret service members to "ensure validity and security of the voting process," according to a news release from the Northwest school district in far north Fort Worth.
Ballot totals will be broadcast during the day by a student news team. Final mock election results are due to be announced by 2:30 p.m., before school gets out at 2:45 p.m.
