Fort Worth schools superintendent Walter Dansby sent a letter to all parents about the upcoming bond referendum.
Early voting starts Oct. 21 for the Nov. 5 referendum. Voters are being asked to cast ballots on a $490 million proposal that includes money for new schools, classroom additions, buses and student equipment and other projects.
The school district is calling the proposal "Commitment to Classrooms" and using that 22-character hastag in twitter posts.
Dansby's letter, which was sent in English and Spanish, outlines the three propositions in the package and encourages parents to got town hall meetings to find out more. The first meeting is tomorrow (Sept. 5) at the Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences, 3813 Valentine St., Fort Worth.
Groups such as neighborhood associations can also request an information presentation on the bond by calling 817-814-1933 or online.
