A yellow European crossbred steer, shown by Cuatro Schauer of Beeville, was named the junior grand champion steer this afternoon at the Fort Worth Stock Show.
The reserve champion, also a European crossbred, was shown by Stock Martin of Hereford.
There were 2,871 steers entered in the show.
Last year's grand champion steer, a European crossbred shown by Landry Barton of O'Donnell, was purchased for $185,000 in the annual Sale of Champions.
That sale begins at 9 a.m. Saturday in the West Arena. - Chris Vaughn
