Stock Show app lets fans judge rodeo performances

The Fort Worth Stock Show proudly boasts that its rodeo is the “original” indoor rodeo.

Now Stock Show officials are introducing a smartphone app that they claims is also a first.

The app, called SCORE IT!, allows those attending the rodeo to score bronc and bull riders, predict barrel racers’ times and access biographical information on cowboys and cowgirls. And no, the fans' scores don't count.

“We are excited about introducing this new function within our app. Not only is it a first for the Fort Worth rodeo, but a first for the rodeo industry as well,” said Brad Barnes, president and general manager of the Fort Stock Show and Rodeo. “Our hope is that not only will this new feature be engaging and exciting, but more importantly, the app will also serve as a terrific learning tool for rodeo fans to gain a better understanding about our sport and have the opportunity to connect more with our rodeo athletes.”

The app, available for iPhones and Androids, also provides Stock Show visitors information on parking, where to eat, livestock show schedules and entertainment lineups at the Coors Roadhouse Rodeo and Frost Stage.
