Not a good afternoon to drive with the top down. A flash flood watch is in effect through Tuesday morning in Tarrant and many of our other favorite counties: Denton, Johnson, Parker, Wise ... Chance of rain 70-80 percent all around ... Remember that six inches of rushing water can carry away your car. And even if you're lucky enough to be rescued, you may wind up on the 10 o'clock news, a humiliating example of how not to drive in wet weather.

A fuel tanker crashed and exploded Sunday on this road leading to the Bay Bridge, apparently melting away the supports. About a half-million people a day go through this way, comparable to the number of cars that use our Grapevine funnel (Texas 114/121/LBJ) every day!
