Expect a mess this weekend on 35W

I35w Avoid Interstate 35W in north Fort Worth this weekend! Southbound 35W from Basswood Boulevard to North Loop 820 will be reduced to one lane for concrete pavement repair. The closure will be 11 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Sunday. All ramps will be open, but delays will be massive (worse than usual, in other words), according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Now we're talkin'. Thanks for the ADVANCE warning, Gordon!

And what is so wrong with 35 south that we need to practically shut it down AGAIN! The last round of "repairs" just made a smooth ride into a bone-jarring ordeal.

John, before they started these repairs about a month ago most of the right lane was very damamged. I would avoid it if at all possible. It seemed like sections of the road where the joints would connect with each other would separate, causing a very bumpy ride indeed. But when the repairs have been completed, I've notice it to be a bit smoother, but not as much as, say, NW 820. I just wish TxDoT would get funding for a brand-new 35W.
