My gracious!
1.2 BILLION dollars for more roadway projects...along with a promise that, if we're all good little boys and girls, we MIGHT see some additional passenger train service in Texas by the year 2030!
Ladies and gentlemen, this is sheer INSANITY!!
As always, our state and federal Departments of "Transportation" [sic] JUST DON'T GET IT!
The auto-centric culture we've so carefully nurtured for so long is imploding all around us and we're planning for additional roadway construction, while paying nothing but lip-service to the only logical alternative which exists!
Why do I keep getting this mental picture of Nero playing his fiddle?!
Future generations will judge us quite harshly - as well they should.
