The only constant on I-30 in Arlington is change itself these days. The latest event that motorists need to know about will take place Saturday, when traffic on westbound I-30 will be switched to the new main lanes from Ballpark Way to Cooper Street. It'll happen between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, according to the Texas Department of Transportation, so be aware of the potential for traffic delays during that time.
The action is part of the $166 million redo of the freeway corridor. The freeway main lanes are being depressed as much as 18 feet to make way for three new overpasses in the so-called "Three Bridges" project. Work is expected to continue through 2010.

I drive from Dallas back to FW every day on I30 and it burns my butt to look over from the congested lanes to see the "HOV" lanes virtually empty - all the time they are open, then to see them closed completely after rush hour.
HOV is a stupid concept that does not work. We need those lanes opened up for general traffic and quickly.
What kind of putzes make the decisions about our roadways?
