A new state agency formed to oversee vehicle titles, registration and other duties wants to know what residents in the western part of Dallas-Fort Worth think of those services. The new Texas Department of Motor Vehicles will host a meeting Thursday1-21 as part of its statewide “listening tour.” The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Tarrant County Sub-Courthouse, 700 E. Abram St. in Arlington. The DMV, which was formed Nov. 2, also is responsible for the state’s motor carrier and motor vehicle divisions, and the Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority office.
The DMV was created by state lawmakers, who wanted to combine duties previously performed by several state agencies, including the Texas Department of Transportation. Victor Vandergriffcq of Arlington was appointed DMV board chairman. More: cqwww.txdmv.gov. — Gordon Dickson
