No more 820 on-ramp from Beach Street

FORT WORTH – The Beach Street on-ramp to westbound Northeast Loop 820 will close permanently at 9 p.m. Monday. Traffic will detour along the westbound Loop 820 frontage road and the northbound Interstate 35W frontage road to Western Center Boulevard.
The closure allows contractors to continue construction on Beach Street (north and south of Loop 820), the westbound Loop 820 frontage road and the new westbound Loop 820 main lanes.
This is part of the $2.5 billion North Tarrant Express project to expand 13.5 miles of Loop 820 and Airport Freeway from I-35W to Industrial Boulevard. The project, scheduled for mid-2015 completion, will rebuild main lanes and frontage roads and add toll lanes.
See northtarrantexpress.com for other closures and project updates. -- Terry Evans

I love how they keep closing ramps, but have not yet opened new ones. This will push even more traffic to Haltom Road (already backed up every day) and 377 even though 377 has no left-turn to get onto 820. In 20 years when the construction is done it might be nice, but how bad will it get in the mean time? I know they are working hard but my commute time has already doubled...
