Westbound 820 on ramp from 377 gone for good

HALTOM CITY — Say “so long” to another highway entrance as the North Tarrant Express permanently shuts off the Denton Highway (U.S. 377) on ramp to westbound Northeast Loop 820 at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Traffic will be directed to an on ramp between Haltom Road and Beach Street. At the same time, the westbound Loop 820 off ramp to Haltom Road will close until sometime in February. A temporary off ramp to Beach Street will be opened. For more closure notices and to track progress of the $2.5 billion project, go to northtarrantexpress.com. Set for mid-2015 completion, the project is rebuilding main lanes and frontage roads and creating toll lanes on Loop 820 and Airport Freeway from Interstate 35W to Industrial Boulevard. — Terry Evans
