A small but significant chunk of the northbound Interstate 35W frontage road near Meacham Boulevard is now closed, and likely to remain off limits until roughly Feb. 6.
The closure began Monday between Polaris Drive and Melody Hills, near the southeastern quadrant of the I-35W/Loop 820 interchange. The closure is needed so the frontage road can be rebuilt, and the bridge over Little Fossil Creek can be replaced, according to officials managing the project.
A detour on small city streets is available for traffic trying to maneuver the area. The detour includes Southern Cross Drive and McMillian Parkway. (Map below)
