Report: DFW nurse among those hooked by 21st century snake oil salesmen

Internet marketers are the 21st Century flim-flam men, The Verge reports, and among the pigeons cited in the article is a nurse in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Her first mistake: buying a product she saw on a late-night infomercial. Then she got a phone call about an opportunity that would mean she would never have to worry about money again. Invest in affiliate marketing, she's told, and the business will run on autopilot. She will make money without work - so she hands over her credit card number. Before you attend a seminar or buy a DVD, check out the article, which also includes an interview with a man in Austin, Texas, who is part of what's called The Syndicate. - Lois Norder
