That's horse manure. I moved up here from Foat Wuth nearly 30 years ago and lots of folks say "ya'll." Nobody thinks anything of it. Frankly I tried to avoid it for years because I had the idea that people up here were a bit snooty, but over the past decade or so I've hard lots of folks loosen up. It's a lot nicer just being myself.

I think it is all the easterners who have a problem, don't ya'll? Jay Leno says "ya'll" on the Tonight show and it has become part of American culture.

I doubt many Texans will be campaigning for the Abomination.

They've always hated Texans. So what. We drop tons of tourist dollars every year all over their state, so they can get over our "ya'll" and "howdy" and just be gracious hosts.

Gee, isn't that something. They don't like a homegrown word that has it roots in American English, but most likely accept the main stream media's bastardization of someone being reported missing. I'll bet if y'all listen to them speak in the Colorado area, they will say that someone "went missing" or they will "go missing" and such. In American Engligh, you CANNOT "go missing" or have "went missing" as it just defies our grammar rules. Not even a smidgeon of American English but some liberal reporter started using it and the other libs grabbed onto it probably thinking it made them sound cool and upbeat because it was not American. That seems to be the lib's trend nowadays. Really, it makes enyone who uses it sound like an idiot. What the folks in Colorado need to with all the other libs is get back to the fundamentals of what America is all about, even down to using a completely American term such as Y'all. As stated above, Y'all seem pleased when Texans come up there to spend money but appear to be afraid because they are so open and genuine.

Hey y'all!
