U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison is not leaving the Senate until her term ends, she announced today in San Antonio.
Although she said last year that she would resign after the March primary -- whether she won or lost her gubernatorial bid -- Hutchison said Wednesday that she wants to fight for Texas and try to prevent further expansion of the federal government.
“It is clear to me that the stakes in our nation’s capitol have never been higher," she said in a written statement. "President Obama’s victory on health care legislation has emboldened those who want an even bigger and more intrusive federal government.”
"On a personal level, this has been a most difficult decision, but after much deliberation, I have decided to complete my term," she said. "I will work alongside our great Texas congressional delegation to repeal and replace President Obama's massive health bill, to stop cap-and-trade legislation and to cut the deficit the president is building that is putting our economy in peril."

What a big, fat, lying politician. She will say whatever she wants, her word means nothing, and if she changes her mind about giving up all that power, tough beans. Credibility? I don't think so! Integrity? That's not how I was taught to behave. They are all alike. Pants on fire!!

Kay needs to stay. She has always done a great job for Texas and we need her in the Senate now more than ever. The wolves are at the door and Senator Hutchison has the savy and experience to fend them off. You're going to be glad she's there in 6 months...

Gee, is anyone surprised by this?

What a sham! Seriously lame! I liked KBH, but when you say you gonna do something then do it. There are plenty of other republicans that can get elected and vote no. I do not like Perry very much, but he is right about thing...washington power corrupts! The power was just too much to leave behind including her honor and dignity.
