After failing to unseat incumbent Rick Perry in the GOP gubernatorial primary, Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison is scheduled to announce today whether she will stay in the Senate.
Hutchison, of Dallas, had said that she would resign from the Senate, win or lose, after the health-care vote. But several prominent Republicans, including Perry, have urged her to stay.
The news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. in San Antonio. Texas' other senator, John Cornyn, and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate minority leader, are scheduled to appear with her.

Don't think there was ever a question that she planned to milk the system and stay if she lost to Perry. She is the typical Senator and couldn't scratch her rear with a hand full of fish hooks! Hopefully the people will vote her out when she runs again.

Texas conservatives clearly showed we wanted her to GO...she lost her way long ago. What a huge disappointment, but sadly not a suprise.

She will stay, she needs to come home and shutup

Kay you should really go home. I won't be voting for you this time. The email I received when I wrote and asked that you NOT vote for the stimulis package
was condescending. That I didn't get the bigger picture of what was at stake. Not your words, but the same meaning. I did and do get it. You and several others are why we need term limits.

Several years ago I was a public servant and had an issue with my employer. I contacted Senator Hutchisons office and she was able to resolve the problem.
I always try to look for the good in someone, and not kick them when they are down.

It is very sad for Texas that Perry won the primary. It is unfortunate that all of you can't see that!! Be careful what you wish for - having Perry stay in office will not be good for Texas in any way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh wait, maybe he will opt out of the United States and leave the rest of us here :)

She made absolutely no effort to repeal the 1960's gun control act while she was in Washington, so what made her think we would elect her governor? Rick Perry understands how important the Second Amendment is to Texans, and his support of gun owners has been outstanding. Perry understands that wealth and health is only temporary without a means to defend either of them. Too bad Senator Hutchison forgot that the 2nd amendment is the foundation that freedom is built upon.

I'm very glad she's staying. Replacing her with someone new and less influential would hurt both moderate and non-moderate republicans. Perry may have criticized her while campaigning, but clearly he WANTS her to stay in the Senate. So I'm not sure why some Perry supporters disagree with him so much. She's one of the better senators in my opinion.

vote her out - but that's just my opinion
