A lack of election staff Heritage Church of Christ has caused delays after a number of workers apparently didn’t show up, said Steve Raborn, Tarrant County elections administrator.
Voters from at least two precincts – 3637 and 3646 -- were backed up at the church at 4201 Heritage Trace Parkway in Fort Worth Tuesday morning. An electronic voting machine was reported to be not functioning.
“They only had three workers when they told us they were going to have six,” Raborn said. As a result, Raborn said some voting equipment was not set up this morning.
“We sent one of our technicians over the site to get equipment up and running,” Raborn said. “He told us they had a lot of voters. So we sent some helpers over to that site.”
Raborn keeps a pool a people ready on election morning that troubleshoot polling places. Additional workers were sent out at about 11 a.m.
Otherwise, there have been no serious problems reported in the county, Raborn said.
“It’s been a pretty typical election day,” he said.
