Approximately 12 hours after announcing in a speech last night that he was returning to Texas to "reassess" his campaign, Gov. Rick Perry has hinted via Twitter that he's done thinking and ready to get back in the race.
While news was spreading that US Rep. Michele Bachman was officially suspending her presidential campaign, Perry posted the following tweet Wednesday morning around 10:15 a.m.:
And the next leg of the marathon is the Palmetto State...Here we come South Carolina!!! yfrog.com/odz8ujrj— Rick Perry (@GovernorPerry) January 4, 2012
Perry linked to the following photo along with the tweet:
UPDATE: A Perry campaign source told Peter Hamby of CNN that the campaign is ready to start campaigning in South Carolina, likely after this weekend's debate in New Hampshire. "We're back on," the source said.
Perry's son, Griffin, who has been working on his dad's campaign, also confirmed the campaign's quick relaunch on Twitter:
See y'all next week in Carolina! I expect all my SEC brethren to come out in force. #Perry2012— Griffin Perry (@griffperry) January 4, 2012
