At least two rallies marking the "Day of Resistance" against federal gun regulations will be held in the North Texas area this Saturday.
In Dallas, a 2 p.m. Second Amendment Rally will be held at Flag Pole Hill, 8100 Doran Circle. In Stephenville, a 10 a.m. rally will be held on the south side of the Erath County Courthouse, 100 W. Washington in Stephenville.
Both rallies -- and those held across the country -- are calling on gun owners and patriots to peacefully demonstrate in support of 2nd Amendment rights. These rallies are designed to counter recent executive actions regarding gun control that President Barack Obama signed into effect last month.
Obama last month also promised to do everything he can to make a reality the country's most aggressive gun control proposal in decades. The plan, developed through a task force guided by Vice President Joe Biden in the wake of the mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school in December, includes requiring background checks on all gun purchases, banning assault weapons and limiting ammunition magazines to 10 rounds.
