Former Fort Worth City Council member Kathleen Hicks, who left the council last year to run an unsuccessful race for Congress, filed papers this morning to seek her old City Council District 8 seat, now held by Kelly Allen Gray.
In District 5, Council candidate John Tunmire said this morning he's withdrawing from the race and will support Gyna Bivens, who filed papers yesterday to run against incumbent Frank Moss.
Friday's the last day of filing for the May 11 City Council race. So far, four races are contested. The others: District 2, incumbent Sal Espino vs. ex councilman Jim Lane; and District 4, incumbent Danny Scarth vs. Paul Gardner.
