Oakhurst real estate broker Graham Brizendine, who filed his candidacy late Friday for the Fort Worth District 9 City Council seat of incumbent Joel Burns, withdrew Monday. Here's his withdrawal paperwork.
Here's a statement he emailed to the Star-Telegram:
“Due to the current status of transitioning from Oakhurst to Berkeley, my family and I have decided that serving the City of Fort Worth would be enhanced by doing so in the near future rather than immediately," said Brizendine, who is moving to Berkeley from Oakhurst with his family.
"I want to have time to take the pulse of our new Berkeley/Mistletoe Heights neighbors so as to expand my ability to represent the constituents across District 9. Neighborhoods are important to me; not only where we may be currently, but where we have been. I thank my supporters, advisors, friends, family, and look forward to representing the constituents in District 9 in the near future.”
