Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price kicked off her annual Rolling Town Hall series Wednesday night, leading as many as 100 riders from The Woodshed restaurant on the Trinity River through the Colonial, Tanglewood, and Overton Park neighborhoods before returning to the restaurant.
"Keep your wheels on the ground, and I'll try to keep mine on the ground this year," Price joked to the crowd before beginning the ride, a reference to her own cycling accident last year in which she broke her collarbone.
Before the ride, Price offered advice to one boy on how to wear his helmet.
At one point during the ride, TCU football coach Gary Patterson, stopped in his SUV at an intersection to allow the peloton to pass, offered encouragment. "Lookin' awful slim there, now," he said.
