Bivens reporting raising $49,960 between May 2 and June 12, including $43,235 in two contributions from the Fort Worth Police Officers Association's Committee for Public Safety PAC. One of the contributions, for $20,000, came in June 7.
Other major contributors included former Fort Worth T board member Gary Havener, $1,750. and Sendera Title executive Marjie Wrigley, $2,000.
Some contributors were hedging their bets. Fort Worth attorney Jim Schell, a Moss contributor, also gave $500 to Bivens' campaign. And the Freese & Nichols PAC, a Moss contributor, also gave $200 to Bivens.
Bivens reported spending $37,493 during April, and having $12,466 in cash on hand.
With the police contributions, Bivens raised more money in six weeks than Moss raised for his entire campaign, at least through May 31. Bivens' latest report was dated through June 12.
