Fort Worth council members are attending the Congressional City Conference in Washington D.C. this week to campaign for issues important to Fort Worth.
Council members Kelly Allen Gray, Joel Burns and Gyna Bivens are taking part in the event put on by the National League of Cities (NLC), running from March 8 - March 12.
Councilman Jungus Jordan is also attending, but, as president of the Texas Municipal League, is representing the 1,136 member cities across Texas.
“I will be attending NLC educational meetings and visiting with national and congressional leaders to discuss policies and budgeting that impacts Texas cities specifically, and United States cities in general,” Jordan said in a statement.
He will be focusing on issues like maintaining local control and policies affecting infrastructure, water, transportation and infrastructure.
Burns said he will meet with national leaders, such as U.S.Rep. Kay Granger, R-Fort Worth, about policies affecting Fort Worth, such as transportation.
