One labor group that is not sure about a US Airways takeover bid is the union that represents American Eagle pilots.
The Air Line Pilots Association represents the pilots at AMR's regional carrier and in a statement issued to members Friday that it has no idea if Eagle would be part of any merger.
"There is limited information currently available concerning any proposed transaction between US Airways and AMR. We have no idea at this point whether US Airways has any intention of acquiring American Eagle as part of this offer, and will continue our planning for various contingencies," the ALPA Eagle MEC said.

Fellow American Eagle pilots:
This morning, US Airways announced that it had reached tentative contract agreements with all of American Airlines’ unions. The unions have indicated to their membership that the tentative agreements, while concessionary, are significantly better than what American Airlines is demanding that they concede in bankruptcy.
The MEC has been briefed on today’s events and we will be working with our bankruptcy counsel to determine the best way forward for Eagle pilots.
There is limited information currently available concerning any proposed transaction between US Airways and AMR. We have no idea at this point whether US Airways has any intention of acquiring American Eagle as part of this offer, and will continue our planning for various contingencies.
As details become available, we will convey them to you.

It's obvious; your position is going to be OUT ON THE STREET.

I've been wondering where Eagle is going to fit into this merger. USAir's scope clause restricts the amount of 50 seaters and Eagle has 3 times more aircraft than is allowed.

ANOTHER SHINING EXAMPLE OF JIMMY LITTLE THROWING HIS AMERICAN EAGLE TWU MEMBERS UNDER THE BUS SO THAT HIS AA MEMBERS CAN COME OUT ON THE TOP!!!

Maybe it's an example of all AA unions throwing Eagle under the bus, especially APA.

US Air still has unresolved union/pilot issues from the America West merger. But AA's unions are completely happy in 60 days of negotiation??? What a joke, classic over-promise and underdeliver

American Eagle or Excecutive Airlines doesn't own any aircraft , AA is the owner of all those aircraft . So the future looks really bad for all TWU members.
