No more standing by the baggage carousel, waiting for your luggage after your flight on American Airlines.
The Fort Worth-based carrier announced this week that it is partnering with BAGS VIP Luggage Delivery for a new delivery service that will start on Monday, August 6.
American said customers at more than 200 U.S. domestic airports can have their bags delivered to their office, home or hotel for a fee.
"We think this service will be especially valuable to families traveling with children as well as our business travelers who need to go straight to a meeting or into the office," said American's managing director of customer operations planning David Vance.
The service will cost $29.95 for one bag, $39.95 for two bags and $49.95 for three to ten bags, the carrier said. Customers can purchase the service on AA.com when they book their flight or up to two hours prior to their departure.
Bags should arrive at their destination between one and four hours if it is within 40 miles of the airport. There is an additional $1 per mile charge for bag destinations that are 41 to 100 miles from the airport and it will take up to six hours to get your bag, American said.
