Bell Helicopter goes yachting in Monaco

Super yacht Garcon with Bell 429Bell Helicopter must be looking for free air time on "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous."

When the Monaco Yacht Show opened Wednesday in, well, Monaco, Bell , a sales team for the Fort Worth helicopter maker was there to demonstrate the Bell 429 civil helicopter.

One of the helicopters, Bell's newest product, will be displayed to the exclusive aboard the "super yacht" Garcon.

“Participating in this event gives us an opportunity to talk with our existing and potential customers, learn more about their plans and share our mutual goals for the future. As a global leader in aviation, we have high expectations for ourselves and we will continue to gain altitude in Europe and beyond,” said Danny Maldonado, Bell's executive vice president of commercial sales and marketing said in a Bell press release.

It makes sense the yacht owners would want a helicopter to make those little side trips to town for groceries and sightseeing.

You may notice that's a Eurocopter parked on the Garcon's landing pad in the photo below, which the Bell team apparently kicked over the side in order to land the 429. Or maybe they took it as a trade-in.
