Due to Hurricane Sandy, Dallas/Fort Worth Airport said 188 arrivals and departures have been canceled at the airport, less than 20 percent of its scheduled departures.
The airport added that passengers headed to the northeast should check on their flights before heading to the airport. DFW said it is prepared to handled stranded travelers, however, it does not expect large numbers of stranded passengers since airlines are proactively cancelling flights prior to the storm's landfall.
DFW said it will keep restaurants and stores open after hours and have cots and blankets on hand for affected passengers.
