Hurricane Sandy's effects are still being felt as courts in New York are relocating hearings from its southern Manhattan courthouse.
On Monday, the bankruptcy court hearing AMR's case filed a notice saying that Thursday's hearings will be moved to White Plains, New York, about thirty miles away.
U.S. Bankruptcy judge Sean Lane is scheduled to hear a variety of issues in AMR's case on Thursday including whether or not AMR should be allowed an extra month to file its reorganization plan. He is also scheduled to a hear a motion from hedge fund Marathon Asset, who wants the court to investigate a pre-bankruptcy $2.26 billion debt transaction between American Airlines and its regional carrier, American Eagle.
