On Monday, American Airlines outlined its new amenities for its international first class and business passengers as the carrier upgrades its service while it restructures in bankruptcy.
The carrier, which is scheduled to launch its new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in late January, said the new premium inflight experience has already begun on its international flights to Europe, Asia and long-haul Latin America markets.
"As we build toward a new, more modern airline, we have thoughtfully considered each detail of the international premium experience from beginning to end by providing high-quality amenities and dining options that our customers expect," said Rob Friedman, American's vice president of marketing. "By delivering a service that offers such personalization, we are able to provide an enhanced inflight experience that truly meets the expectations of our premium customers, and reminds them of home or their favorite restaurant."
American said when first class customers first board, they will receive an amenity kit with skincare products, closed-toe slippers, an additional pillow and a mimosa. When dining, customers will eat off of new china and flatware and receive a "textured placemat, napkin ring, accent water glass and an amuse-bouche, a bite-size hors d'oeuvre," the carrier says.
Business class customers will also receive an amenity kit and slippers and will be able to choose a customized sundae from American's dessert cart, the airline said.

I hope they don't eat me:

About time. I'm sick of U.S.-based airlines skimping out on premium cabin benefits. Most foreign airlines offer these things, and it does make a difference when you're paying thousands of dollars for a ticket.
