Southwest passenger traffic dips 0.2 percent in December

Southwest Airlines said its December passenger traffic was essentially flat as the Dallas-based carrier kept capacity flat as well.

The airline said passenger traffic dipped 0.2 percent while capacity increased by 0.2 percent. Its load factor for December dropped 0.4 percentage points to 78.0 percent.

Southwest added that its unit revenues were comparable to December 2011.
