Eating a taco at Blue Mesa in Terminal D or parking in the Express Lot North at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport will soon earn local travelers frequent flier miles.
DFW Airport announced on Thursday a new rewards program where travelers can earn miles whenever they make purchases at the airport. The program, which is operated by www.thanksagain.com, will launch in June.
Travelers can register a debit or credit card at www.thanksagain.com and whenever they use that card at DFW they will receive miles on one of six airlines, including American Airlines. The firm already has loyalty programs in place at other airports such as Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.
The program was discussed at the airport's board meeting this week. Board members were also briefed on the upcoming opening of Terminal A's first renovated section.
The newly renovated area will reopen tentatively on February 26. Currently, the concessionaires in that section have already opened for travelers that are flying out of other gates at Terminal A.
Gates A9 through A16 are receiving the finishing touches with American planning to add its new branding signs and images to the area starting on Monday, the board was told by airport staff.
The board also added two new members on Thursday: Regina Montoya and Curtis Ransom, who were both appointed by the Dallas City Council to two-year terms.
