Lockheed's Missiles and Fire Control wins prestigious award


GRAND PRAIRIE -- The Missile and Fire Control business sector of Lockheed Martin Corp. has received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, a company official said.

The award represents what's best in American business, Lockheed spokesman Craig Vanbebber said.

Established by legislation in 1987, the award was named after the late Commerce Secretary Malcolm Baldrige; it promotes national awareness about the importance of improving quality management and recognizing quality achievements of U.S. companies, although the award is not for specific products or services.
