Spirit starts service to Cancun, Los Angeles and Oakland out of DFW on Thursday

Spirit Airlines, which has continued to add destinations at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport this year, launched service to Cancun, Los Angeles and Oakland on Thursday.

"Customers from throughout the Metroplex are continuing to respond favorably to Spirit's ultra low fares and options that offer a total price that's tough to beat and we're committed to continue giving our customers the value and savings they've come to know and love," said Spirit's chief marketing officer Barry Biffle.

The new service brings Spirit up to 24 nonstop destinations from DFW. In June, the low-fare carrier plans to add two cities - Pittsburgh and Los Cabos.

Spirit will be clobbered on these routes by AA/US.

not quite red white and blue.once the crap at aa is removed by parker, then maybe. but I think spirit will do just fine.remember aa has had a bad reputation ever since mr. Crandall left.it,s going to take a long time for people to trust this airline again. the name should had remained us air.
