Job Fair on Wednesday in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH – Job seekers are invited to a May 22 job fair for the aerospace industry.

The fair, beginning at noon on Wednesday at the Hilton Garden Inn Fort Worth Alliance Airport, will be an opportunity for job seekers to learn more about AAR, a global aerospace and defense contractor. The company has 200 immediate openings across the country and will be recruiting prospective applicants at the fair, officials said.

AAR hopes to start conversations with skilled aircraft maintenance technicians.

Job fair participants, especially those affected by recent workforce reductions in the area, can also take advantage of some critical career guidance and industry search tips.

AAR’s maintenance facilities are located in Duluth, Minnesota; Indianapolis; Miami; Oklahoma City and Hot Springs, Arkansas. If you cannot attend the fair, you may fax your resume to 405-218-3611.

The company employs more than 6,000 people in 17 countries.

I don't know how they can call what was here on wednesday a job fair. Only one company was here for aviation jobs,AAR, a large MRO that has jobs on many places but here in Fort Worth. As one that lost my job with American this year, the possibility of moving to another state for less than half of what I was making is not what I was expecting. Why aren't there any companies here in the Metroplex willing to hire the people with decades of experience in aircraft maintenance at a fair wage?
