Jumbo jet A380 lands at D/FW Airport

Dallas/Fort Worth Airport had an unusual visitor Thursday.

For the first time, a double-decker Airbus A380 landed at the airport. Lufthansa flight 440 from Frankfurt was diverted to D/FW because of thunderstorms in Houston.

The aircraft parked on D/FW's tarmac on the west side just south of Terminal D. Several plane-spotters came to see the gigantic aircraft, the world's biggest passenger jet.

The plane departed at 5:12 p.m. to head to its original destination, George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Star-Telegram photographer Paul Moseley joined the plane-spotters, taking these photos of the A380.
