Southwest says passenger traffic rose 1.3 percent in September

Southwest Airlines said passenger traffic rose 1.3 percent in September as the airline increased capacity by 1.2 percent.

The Dallas-based carrier said its load factor grew slightly, up 0.1 percentage points to 77.1 percent for the month.

Unit revenues are estimated to have increased seven to eight percent compared to September 2012, Southwest said.
