US Airways says passenger traffic up 2.9 percent in September

US Airways said consolidated passenger traffic increased 2.9 percent in September.

The Tempe-based carrier said it grew capacity 3.2 percent in September and as a result its consolidated load factor dropped 0.3 percentage points to 83.7 percent.

Unit revenues also increased about 6 percent in September when compared to the same month last year, the carrier said.
