Southwest says passenger traffic rose 1.3 percent in October

Southwest Airlines said its passenger traffic in October increased 1.3 percent as the carrier added 2.4 percent more capacity to its network.

The Dallas-based carrier's load factor dropped 0.8 percentage points to 79.9 percent for the month.

Unit revenues grew about one to two percent when compared to October 2012, the airline said.
