It's merger day for American Airlines and US Airways

It's time to celebrate at Amon Carter Boulevard.

American Airlines new chief executive Doug Parker and American chairman Tom Horton will be joining employees at the airline's headquarters building this morning to mark the closing of the merger.

Parker will ring the bell to open the NASDAQ exchange and begin the first day of trading of the new company, American Airlines Group. Its new stock symbol will be AAL.
