American says passenger traffic up 3.8 percent in January

American Airlines said its passenger traffic rose 3.8 percent in January as the carrier added 2.3 percent more capacity to its network.

Its load factor also increased 1.2 percentage points to 80.3 percent when compared to January 2013.

American said it expects unit revenues to grow two to four percent in the first quarter.
