Over 300 American flight attendants apply for early-out program

A total of 304 American Airlines' flight attendants have applied for an voluntary buyout program at the Fort Worth-based carrier.

According to the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, Friday was the last day to apply for the program and the early-out is effective May 2014.

This is the second voluntary program offered to American flight attendants. As part of its contract negotiated in bankruptcy, American offered buyouts and a $40,000 severance payment to 2,200 flight attendants in 2012.
