Southwest says passenger traffic grew 0.6 percent in May

Southwest Airlines reported on Monday that passenger traffic increased 0.6 percent in May although the carrier shrunk its network capacity by 1.5 percent.

The Dallas-based airline said its load factor increased 1.8 percentage points to 83.7 percent compared to May 2013.

Southwest added that it expects unit revenues to have increased eight to nine percent in May.
