American says passenger traffic rose 1.1 percent in July

American Airlines said passenger traffic increased 1.1 percent in July as the carrier grew capacity by 3.1 percent.

As a result, the Fort Worth-based carrier said its load factor declined 1.7 percentage points to 85.1 percent when compared to July 2013.

American said it expects its third quarter unit revenues to be up between 1 to 3 percent compared to the same period last year.
