American announces $957 million in financing

American Airlines said it has priced $957 million in financing secured by 17 aircraft that the carrier currently owns.

The funds from the enhanced equipment trust certificates will be used for general corporate purposes and to pay fees and expenses related to the offering.

The certificates will be backeed by five A319 aircraft, seven A321 aircraft and five Boeing 777s that the company received between 2012 and 2014.
